Start-up Support for Plant Construction: Accelerating and Ensuring a Successful Production Start-up
We designed and implemented a comprehensive project management system for a well-known plant engineering company to support the startup of a production facility. Our goal was to ensure ongoing transparency in order to guarantee and accelerate the production startup.
Background
The project management system implemented by the client was inadequate. There was a lack of transparency regarding project progress, which led to a lack of planning certainty and reliability of information. In addition, there were no established project standards for communication, and there was little management support.
Specific Task Description
Our task involved establishing project and reporting standards. In addition, we were tasked with identifying dependencies in the project workflow and consolidating and grouping outstanding issues.
KBC Approach
We implemented daily tracking and reporting to provide a transparent overview of the project status and progress. By bringing together relevant stakeholders and conducting on-site inspections, we accelerated the resolution of outstanding issues. We increased management’s focus on the project, which led to faster progress. In total, we prioritized and managed more than 1,800 actions.
