Technical Recalls in the U.S. – Causes and Outlook for the Automotive Industry

“How will technical initiatives evolve in the future?” This question has been on our minds here at KBC!

Based on data from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), we analyzed the technical causes of recalls over the past 20 years in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich. Taking into account trends in the automotive industry, we derived a forecast for the number of vehicles affected in 2025. The results of the study are also published in the current issue of Automobilwoche (March 6, 2017).
