KBC Named One of Bavaria’s “Best Employers” Once Again
Munich– KBC has been recognized as one of the best employers in the state-wide competition “Bavaria’s Best Employers 2019” organized by Great Place to Work®.
On April 3, Managing Director Stefan Kemény and Human Resources Manager Constanze Schöffmann accepted the award on behalf of the “KBC family” at the House of Bavarian Business. 100 percent of respondents agreed with the statement: “We feel like a ‘family’ here—we have a strong team spirit.”

General information about the competition:
The award was preceded by a detailed anonymous survey of KBC employees on key workplace topics such as trust in management, quality of collaboration, appreciation, identification with the company, career development opportunities, compensation, health promotion, and work-life balance. In addition, management was surveyed on supportive HR initiatives and programs within the company. The results of the two internationally proven assessment tools (Great Place to Work® Employee Survey + Culture Audit) were weighted in a 2:1 ratio; thus, the direct assessment by employees takes precedence.
Bavarian companies of all sizes and from all industries participated in the current Great Place to Work® state competition, “Bavaria’s Best Employers 2019.” They underwent a voluntary assessment of the quality and appeal of their workplace culture by the independent Great Place to Work® Institute and were evaluated by their own employees. The list of the best employers was compiled from the entire pool of participants (with benchmarking differentiated by company size). Regardless of their ranking on the list of top employers, all participants benefited from the detailed assessment of their current status and the insights gained to further their development as good and attractive employers.
The partners of the Bavarian Great Place to Work® regional initiative, launched in 2014, and the “Bavaria’s Best Employers” competition are bayme vbm – The Bavarian Metal and Electrical Employers’ Association, Das Demographie Netzwerk e.V. (ddn), and the Süddeutsche Zeitung. The umbrella organization is the nationwide “Germany’s Best Employers” competition, which has been held annually since 2002.
