KBC Named One of Germany's Top Management Consultancies for the 13th Time

With 13 independent awards in 10 years, the international boutique consulting firm KBC ranks among the best management consultancies in Germany. Whether a supply chain crisis is threatening the annual revenue of a medium-sized mechanical engineering company or an automotive group is seeking innovative ways to cut costs, KBC’s team of consultants has not only found exceptionally effective solutions for companies worldwide in its award-winning projects but has also supported them through the entire process until implementation in day-to-day operations.

WirtschaftsWoche, brand eins, and the TOP CONSULTANT Award have named KBC the top management consulting firm in all of Germany

The Best of Consulting Award from WirtschaftsWoche is considered one of the most important industry awards for consulting firms in Germany. It recognizes outstanding consulting projects in various categories and has established itself as a seal of quality in the consulting industry.

In partnership with Statista, the business magazine brand eins has been conducting an annual survey of the German consulting market since 2014. The study "Best Management Consultants" is considered Germany’s largest consulting survey and brings transparency to an often confusing market. Only recommendations from clients and fellow consultants lead to one of the coveted awards—a listing is therefore not a seal that can be purchased, but rather a judgment by peers and clients.

Since 2010, the TOP CONSULTANT Award has been honoring German consulting firms annually. The award signifies that these consultants are among the very best in their field. Award-winning consulting firms thus send two clear signals to the market: They advise small and medium-sized businesses as equals—and consistently achieve outstanding results.

KBC Named Best Management Consulting Firm of 2026

In 2026, Statista and brand eins identified the best management consulting firms in Germany for the 13th time. As in the previous year, KBC was recognized as the top consulting firm in the “Automotive & Suppliers” category. Above-average client satisfaction played a decisive role in this recognition.

Felix Feuerbach, managing director and co-founder of KBC, along with KBC’s team of consultants, is delighted to have once again been recognized as one of the best management consulting firms in Germany.

For the twelfth consecutive year, Statista and brand eins identified the best management consultancies in Germany. KBC maintained its ranking in the “Automotive & Suppliers” sector compared to the previous year. In the ranking, KBC received an above-average customer rating.

Felix Feuerbach, managing director and co-founder of KBC, is extremely pleased to have once again been recognized as one of the best consulting firms in the country.

KBC Wins the "Best of Consulting" Award Again in 2024

We are continuing our success story at WirtschaftsWoche’s prestigious Best of Consulting Award: For the ninth time, KBC has secured a top spot in this competition and has been recognized as one of the top management consulting firms in Germany. The advisory board and jury—composed of academic experts and decision-makers with consulting experience—evaluated the submitted consulting projects according to the strictest criteria.

The awards ceremony took place on November 21, 2024, in DĂŒsseldorf, where Stefan KemĂ©ny, Senior Partner and Chairman of the Board of Directors of KBC, accepted the awards.

About the Award-Winning Project

"Machinery and Plant Engineering" Category

In the “Industry Leader” segment of the “Machinery and Plant Engineering” category, our client’s core challenge was to finance the transition to a more resource- and energy-efficient production method without jeopardizing the profitability of new greenfield projects. Our team of consultants focused on innovation-driven cost optimization, which drastically reduced the investment costs for new facilities while simultaneously enabling the company to achieve its sustainability goals. The result impressively demonstrates that sustainability and cost efficiency do not have to be mutually exclusive, and that companies can achieve their environmental goals while remaining competitive through innovative approaches.

About the Award-Winning Project

"Strategy" Category

In the “Strategy”category, the goal of our strategy consulting project was to strategically accelerate our client’s business growth beyond its core business and reduce its dependence on a single major client. To achieve this, the KBC consulting team employed a 5-step approach that combined data-driven analysis, stakeholder interviews, and co-creation. The main challenge was not only to develop a sustainable R-marketing strategy but also to ensure that it was implemented immediately—including an adaptive roadmap with phased rollouts to enable rapid market adjustments.

We take a radically different approach to challenges, thereby opening up avenues for solutions that remain closed off to conventional methods. This isn’t about cookie-cutter, off-the-shelf concepts. Instead, we tailor ideas to deliver measurable results in day-to-day operations.

Award-Winning: KBC Named One of “The Best Management Consultants of 2024”

For the eleventh consecutive year, Statista and brandeins have identified the top management consultancies in Germany. KBC further improved its ranking in the “Automotive & Suppliers” sector compared to last year. We also scored highly this year in the “Procurement, SCM” consulting category thanks to our expertise. In both rankings, KBC received above-average customer ratings.

Felix Feuerbach, managing director and co-founder of KBC, is extremely pleased to have once again been recognized as one of the country's top consulting firms.

2024 Survey

About the Ranking

The results are based on a survey of experts and clients, as well as their recommendations: 298 consulting firms and 11 consulting networks made it onto the list of the best this time around.

For the expert survey, a total of 6,912 partners and project managers from management consulting firms were identified and surveyed online. They were able to provide recommendations for a total of 17 industries and 21 practice areas; self-recommendations were excluded. Subsequently, a total of 1,743 clients (senior executives) were surveyed: The quality of the consulting services was rated online using a scale of 1 to 6. The firms were then grouped based on the number of recommendations received, which was determined by the respective average score.

Our inclusion among the top management consulting firms in Germany reflects the exceptional performance and outstanding dedication of our team of consultants. We stand by our clients and identify with their unique circumstances, concerns, and challenges. We would like to thank all of them for their excellent review and our colleagues for their recommendation.

KemĂ©ny Boehme Consultants Once Again Honored with the “Best of Consulting” Award from WirtschaftsWoche in 2023

Test 2: John, with honors
Test 2: John, with honors

KemĂ©ny Boehme Consultants (KBC) was recognized with two awards at the “Best of Consulting” Awards hosted by WirtschaftsWoche magazine: in the Manufacturing & Operations category and in the Purchasing & Supply Chain Management category. The award winners were honored on November 30, 2023, in DĂŒsseldorf. KBC Partner John Dowling accepted the awards.

About the Award-Winning Project

"Purchasing & Supply Chain Management" Category

In the Purchasing & Supply Chain Management category, our client faced the challenge that supply bottlenecks in its production were jeopardizing the success of the fiscal year. KBC subsequently implemented a data model capable of linking sales, purchasing, production, and logistics data—as well as the relationships between them—to define an optimal production schedule that accounts for missing parts in each production shift. As a result, revenue increased by 84% compared to the previous year, while inventory was reduced by 12% and the planning horizon was extended from 4 to 12 weeks.

About the Award-Winning Project

"Manufacturing & Operations" Category

In the Manufacturing & Operations category, KBC’s client faced the dilemma of reactivating a project for a new production facility in Asia that had been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenge was to complete and commission the plant under adverse conditions. Using our holistic and innovative “Remote Collaboration” concept—which included augmented reality and a Remote Impact Center—we were able to successfully complete the greenfield project and enable the client to begin production.

Our shared success with the client has enabled them to gain a competitive edge in the Asian market despite challenging conditions. Having this achievement recognized by an independent third party is a wonderful validation of our approach to tackling challenges and working together with the client to achieve success.

In 2023, KBC ranks among the best management consulting firms in Germany

In the management consulting ranking by Statista and the business magazine brand eins, KBC has been named one of the best management consulting firms in Germany for the first time. The results are based on an in-depth survey of experts and clients, as well as their recommendations. A total of 300 consulting firms made it onto the list of the best this time around. We were able to stand out with our high level of expertise, particularly in the “Automotive & Suppliers” sector.

2023 Survey

About the Ranking

For the expert survey, a total of 8,328 partners and project managers from management consulting firms were identified in 2023. 1,967 consultants participated in the survey and were able to provide recommendations for a total of 16 industries and 19 practice areas. Recommendations for their own management or consulting firm were excluded. The subsequent online survey was conducted with 1,300 senior executives from various companies. The rankings were determined primarily by the evaluations of the market experts and clients surveyed.

Being among the best consultants in the industry fills me with pride and demonstrates what our outstanding team of consultants accomplishes for our clients every day. We focus entirely on the individual needs of each company and help them find tailor-made solutions that go beyond off-the-shelf templates—and we do so beyond the scope of mere consulting. We are extremely pleased to receive this award and would like to thank our colleagues and, above all, our clients for their outstanding feedback.

Best of Consulting Award 2019 – KBC Honored Once Again

KBC was honored with the “Best of Consulting 2019 – Medium-Sized Companies” award. In the Operations category, with a focus on supply chain management, the “Supplier Performance Checks” project submitted by KBC took third place. In doing so, we prevailed over management consulting firms from across Germany, as judged by the scientific advisory board and a jury.

About the Award-Winning Project

"Supplier Performance Checks"

Increasing product diversity, new drive concepts, and growing component complexity significantly increase the effort required for quality assurance. Added to this is a deep supply chain with numerous subcontractors—as a result, the performance of individual suppliers often remains unclear.

Based on this, KBC has developed a methodology for selecting and evaluating suppliers of mass-produced parts. The goal is to ensure an efficient, traceable evaluation and targeted improvement of relevant quality metrics.

The methodology is based on a structured questionnaire—developed in accordance with relevant standards, guidelines, and KBC’s many years of project experience. In addition to planning and conducting the Supplier Performance Checks, KBC also handled documentation and the follow-up of results.

The scope of the project was substantial: Our team of consultants coordinated approximately 180 clients, contacts in 36 departments, and 20 internal consultants from KBC and the KBC partner network. The audits were conducted at 239 plants in 26 countries—primarily in Europe, supplemented by assignments in the U.S., Mexico, and China. Through regular reporting and a clear presentation of results, we were able to transparently communicate the project’s progress to the client.

The results are impressive: Many key performance indicators for incoming quality—PPM, rework, and sorting operations—were significantly reduced. In selected projects, the number of defective parts (PPM) fell by an impressive 16%, and the number of minutes spent on rework dropped by as much as 46%.

KBC is the winner of the 2018 Best of Consulting award

In its third year of participation, KBC was honored by *Wirtschaftswoche* with the “Best of Consulting 2018 – Medium-Sized Companies” award, recognizing it as one of the best management consulting firms in Germany. In the “Supply Chain Management” category, the project “Preventive Capacity Management for the Powertrain Supply Chain” took second place and was awarded the “Excellent” distinction.

Best of Consulting

Honored as a Top Management Consulting Firm for the Third Time

In 2018, “Best of Consulting – Mittelstand” honored Germany’s best management consultants for the ninth time. Consulting firms throughout Germany were invited to have a client project evaluated by the scientific advisory board and a jury.

With this award, KBC’s own medal collection (following the “gold medal” in its first year of participation in 2016 and the “bronze medal” in 2017) is now complete.

KBC co-founder Stefan KemĂ©ny accepted the award in DĂŒsseldorf with gratitude, on behalf of all KBC project team members.

KBC Wins the 2017 Best of Consulting Award

After winning the “Top Consultant” award again in the summer of 2017, KBC has now also secured the “Best of Consulting 2017 – Medium-Sized Companies” award: KBC was honored by WirtschaftsWoche and is thus ranked among the top three management consulting firms in Germany in the “Supply Chain Management” category.

KBC co-founder Stefan KemĂ©ny accepted the award in DĂŒsseldorf, expressing his gratitude on behalf of all project team members.

About the Award-Winning Project

"Supplier Competency Network at an Automotive OEM"

KBC launched the project “Supplier Competency Network at an Automotive OEM.”

In this project, KBC supported a medium-sized client in the area of supply security: When a supply bottleneck caused by a supplier arose, the KBC consulting team acted as crisis managers to prevent or limit any disruption to the supply chain. In doing so, we were able to address and manage issues such as production optimization, manufacturing processes, lean management, plant expertise, automation, supply chain management, inbound/outbound logistics, container management, and even interim management and restructuring mandates within a very short time.

This project is particularly timely because numerous recalls have been necessary in the automotive sector in recent months. Our ability to respond quickly in this project demonstrates our focus as a leading management consulting firm in the field of supply chain management.

KBC Wins the 2017 TOP CONSULTANT Award

KBC can rightly call itself the best management consulting firm in Germany in 2017. In the scientifically rigorous client survey conducted by the consulting firm comparison platform TOP CONSULTANT, the company impressively demonstrated its qualities. During the awards ceremony at the 4th German SME Summit in Essen, TOP CONSULTANT mentor and former Federal President Christian Wulff congratulated KBC Advisory Board member Dr. Martin Boehme on this achievement.

Since 2010, TOP CONSULTANT has been recognizing the best consultants for small and medium-sized businesses. The seal of approval clearly demonstrates the professionalism and expertise of its recipients. Small and medium-sized businesses value it as a reliable guide in the competitive consulting market.

The scientific leadership of the project is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Dietmar Fink and Bianka Knoblach—they alone decide which firms are eligible to receive the TOP CONSULTANT seal. Together, they head the Scientific Society for Management and Consulting (WGMB) in Bonn. On behalf of compamedia, the WGMB surveys reference clients of the participating consulting firms and evaluates the results in conjunction with other company data. The TOP CONSULTANT seal is awarded only if a consulting firm achieves a very good or good result in this process.

KBC has also gone through this process and, following its success in 2016, has once again impressed the scientific committee this year. Having been in business for 10 years, the Munich-based boutique consulting firm has made a name for itself primarily in the areas of quality cost reduction, development process optimization, and supply chain management.

About the Award-Winning Project

From the mobility industry

Whether it’s a car, truck, airplane, or train: When something goes wrong with complex products in the mobility industry, warranty costs are high. In most cases, the fault lies somewhere with the OEM or in the supply chain—and that’s exactly where the consultants come in.

“We need to understand a product throughout its entire development and manufacturing process in order to develop sustainable solutions,” says Stefan KemĂ©ny, managing partner of the consulting firm. This allows product defects to be corrected and their root causes eliminated, thereby optimizing the value chain. The consultants also apply the approaches that work in the mobility industry to other sectors with complex products, such as mechanical engineering and medical technology.

The consulting market has become highly competitive, and dubious providers continue to emerge. TOP CONSULTANT recognizes those consultants who have a proven track record of delivering outstanding work for their clients. The seal thus serves as an important guide for small and medium-sized businesses in a complex market.

Prof. Dr. Dietmar Fink, TOP CONSULTANT Jury

KBC Receives the 2016 TOP CONSULTANT Award

KBC ranks among the best German consulting firms for small and medium-sized businesses. This was revealed by a customer survey conducted by compamedia. KBC achieved top marks in the customer satisfaction category, where 89% of customers said they would recommend the firm’s consulting services at any time.

As a mentor for the consultant comparison, former Federal President Christian Wulff congratulated our two company representatives, Stefan Kemény and Georg Huber, on June 24 at the awards ceremony held as part of the 3rd German SME Summit in Essen.
