Global Remanufacturing Benchmark
The second edition of the “Global Remanufacturing Benchmark” provides insights into remanufacturing markets, products, and processes. In collaboration with Rematec, the world’s largest remanufacturing network, industry experts were surveyed at trade shows in Amsterdam and Guangzhou, China, to gain a clearer picture of the situation in the European and Asian markets.
The key findings of the study:
- Respondents cited new technologies, pricing, and core management, among other things, as the biggest challenges.
- According to survey respondents, Central and Eastern Europe are and will remain the main markets for remanufacturing.
- The leading industries remain the passenger car and truck sectors. However, remanufacturing is also gaining importance in other industries, such as shipping, the energy sector, and rail transport.
Driven by climate protection efforts and spurred on by policymakers, electromobility will have a major impact on the remanufacturing industry as we know it today. The industry will be called upon to provide remanufacturing solutions for electric drives, batteries, and control units.
