Ensuring the timely ramp-up of a module production facility for battery electric vehicles
An automaker faced the challenge of implementing module production for battery-electric vehicles on schedule. The ramp-up of the facilities was significantly hampered by the global pandemic and the resulting restrictions on travel and staff availability. Despite these adverse circumstances, it was necessary to ensure transparency and accountability regarding the project’s progress.

Background
Significant delays began to occur in key trades as early as the initial project phase, affecting more than 50 individual systems within the production facility. The project was highly complex, as it involved numerous trades from different countries. Given these circumstances, clear communication and decisive leadership were essential to ensure that the systems could be brought online on schedule.
Specific task
Our goal was to provide transparency regarding the status of the systems and components in order to facilitate the reprioritization of tasks and ensure consistent tracking of schedules. This also included conducting supplier visits and escalating issues that jeopardized the start-of-production (SOP) process for the time-critical production facility.
KBC's Approach
We ensured constant transparency regarding progress and areas requiring action. We maintained communication all the way up to the executive board through a management-oriented reporting system. This approach laid the groundwork for the timely ramp-up of module production despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic.
