Start-up Support for Plant Construction: Accelerating and Ensuring a Successful Production Start-up

We designed and implemented a comprehensive project management system for a well-known plant engineering company to support the startup of a production facility. Our goal was to ensure ongoing transparency in order to facilitate and accelerate the production startup.

Background

The project management system implemented by the client was inadequate. There was a lack of transparency regarding project progress, which led to a lack of planning certainty and reliability. In addition, there were no established standards for project communication, and management support was limited.

Specific task

Our task involved establishing project and reporting standards. In addition, we were tasked with identifying dependencies in the project workflow and consolidating and grouping outstanding issues.

KBC's Approach

We implemented daily tracking and reporting to provide a transparent overview of the project status and progress. By bringing together relevant stakeholders and conducting on-site inspections, we accelerated the resolution of outstanding issues. We increased management attention, which led to faster project progress. In total, we prioritized and managed more than 1,800 actions.

Impact achieved

Our approach enabled us to achieve 100% transparency regarding project progress. We successfully established project standards and implemented regular on-site meetings at the facility. The increased management attention led to accelerated project progress and improved resolution of outstanding issues.
