Establishment of a global IT infrastructure to implement the sustainability strategy
In an era of increasing sustainability requirements and regulatory mandates, establishing a robust IT infrastructure is critical to the implementation of a global sustainability strategy. The challenge lies in addressing the needs of various business units while complying with regulatory requirements.

Background
Our client, a global building materials company, faced the challenge of establishing an IT infrastructure that would both support its strategic sustainability goals and meet regulatory requirements. In doing so, the company had to take into account the diverse needs of its various business units and subsidiaries.
Specific task
The goal of the project was to provide operational support in coordinating and identifying the needs of the various business units regarding the future IT infrastructure. In collaboration with the client, the specific requirements for sustainability metrics were defined, and the necessary operational capabilities of the IT system were identified.
KBC's Approach
A lean project management approach was established to manage the various stakeholders, and an automated, tool-based evaluation process for software vendors was developed. By building knowledge tailored to specific needs and implementing customized stakeholder management, the varying levels of expertise were taken into account and priorities were set.
