Data-Driven Evaluation of After Sales Strategies
Due to growing complexity in the after-sales sector and increasing competitive pressure, data-driven decisions are becoming increasingly important for achieving revenue and margin targets. A data-driven calculation model provides the means to make informed decisions and effectively align the company’s strategy.

Background
Our client, an automotive OEM, faced the challenge of making strategic decisions regarding the launch of a new product line and assessing its potential. In particular, the focus was on the remanufacturing of used parts, a segment with high revenue and sustainability potential.
Specific task
The goal was to develop and implement a data-driven calculation model to assess the medium-term trends in market potential, revenue, and costs by product group for the remanufacturing and marketing of used parts.
KBC's Approach
First, the relevant data was identified within the client’s complex IT environment and effectively integrated. Next, a comprehensive and flexible data model was developed that took into account both quantitative data and relational and expert knowledge. Using the BI software, a portfolio for remanufacturing was defined based on the 139,000 part numbers that were evaluated.
A key factor in our success was the combination of technical expertise in after-sales and remanufacturing with expertise in data analysis and evaluation.
