Agile transformation for the digital vehicle

In order to meet future customer requirements for the “digital car”, a profound change in organization and processes towards more agile product development is crucial. To meet this challenge, a workshop-based approach was designed to encourage active team participation and strengthen team spirit. This innovative approach aims to make product development more flexible and responsive in order to meet rapidly changing market requirements.

Background

Increasing digitalization in the automotive sector is presenting companies with new challenges. Traditional development processes are reaching their limits in view of the complexity and speed of innovations in the digital car sector. In order to remain competitive, a realignment of organizational structures and workflows is essential. This requires not only technical adjustments, but above all a cultural shift towards greater agility and customer focus.

Specific Task

The task was to develop a holistic transformation approach that would enable the organization to react more agilely to market requirements. Key aspects were the redesign of development processes, the promotion of cross-functional collaboration and the implementation of agile methods. It was also important to develop a concept that actively involves employees in the change process and makes optimum use of their expertise. Strengthening team spirit and promoting an open communication culture were also important objectives.

KBC Solution Approach

New working methods and structures were developed together with employees in a series of interactive workshops. Various agile methods were used, which were tailored to the specific needs of product development. A particular focus was placed on promoting self-organization and establishing short feedback loops. In addition, measures were implemented to improve cross-departmental collaboration and digital tools were introduced to support agile processes.

Improved collaboration between departments leads to faster decision-making processes and more efficient use of resources. Initial projects in the area of the “digital car” are already showing a significantly shorter time-to-market and increased innovative strength. The stronger team spirit and open communication culture also contribute to greater employee satisfaction.
