Best of Consulting Award 2019 \u2013 KBC honoured again!<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

KBC was once again honoured with the \u201cBest of Consulting 2019 \u2013 SME\u201d (small and medium-sized businesses) award. KBC submitted its \u201cSupplier Performance Checks\u201d in the Operation category with a focus on Supply Chain Management and achieved third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the 10th<\/sup> time, the \u201cBest of Consulting \u2013 SME\u201d award honoured Germany\u2019s best business consultants. Consultants from all over Germany were invited to allow a scientific advisory committee and a jury to evaluate a customer project<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summary of the Supplier Performance Checks project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the help of a self-developed methodology for choosing and evaluating suppliers, KBC can help to significantly improve selected key quality indicators of this suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sharp increase in the scope of industrialisation \u2013 arising from, among other factors, diversification of product families, motor concepts, and the growing complexity of components \u2013 simultaneously increase the effort required to ensure the desired component quality. In addition, a high level of vertical integration with a multitude of subsuppliers makes it more difficult to gain a transparent picture of the performance capability of the individual suppliers. Building from this starting point, KBC developed a methodology to efficiently and effectively evaluate suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, based on norms, guidelines and years of KBC expertise, an evaluation option in the form of a questionnaire was further developed, with the help of which selected suppliers were evaluated. As well as planning and executing Supplier Performance Checks, the documentation and follow-up of the findings formed part of the project. These project involved coordinating 180 customer contacts in 36 departments and 20 advisors from KBC and from the KBC partner network. The implementation of Supplier Performance Checks encompassed 239 plants in 26 countries. The focus was on Europe, while the USA, Mexico and China were also among the locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transparency towards the client was ensured in the form of regular reporting and the presentation of the results achieved. Thus, the key performance indicators supplier quality (PPM, rework, selection activities) <\/em>could be significantly reduced. With the help of the implementation of Supplier Performance Checks, KBC was at times able to reduce the number of faulty parts, measured in ppm (parts per million), by 16%, and even to reduce the number of reworking minutes by 46%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
